The National Disability Insurance Scheme ( NDIS ) is one component of the National Disability Strategy which brings community, government and industry together to address the challenges faced by people with disability, and ensures they are supported by mainstream services such as health, education and transport.
The NDIS is a major reform of disability support in Australia. The NDIS emerged from years of discussions about problems with the existing disability support arrangements, the need for reform, and proposals for new models of disability support.

Understanding NDIS can be challenging, but Better Life Community Service team is here to help
The NDIS provides funding directly to eligible individuals. As a result, as an NDIS participant, you identify the support you need in your daily life, as well as what help you need to reach your goals. It also means you choose the NDIS provider you want to work with you.
Your first step is to develop a NDIS plan. Your plan will be all about you and your goals and needs. It will provide a lot of detail about the supports you will be funded for. In addition, it will also list the amount of funding you will receive for each of these supports.
We have highly qualified and experienced staff who are ready to assist you by providing the assistance you need to realise your plan. This assistance is always led by your choices, needs and goals.
We provide practical services which you may need, including:

If you have a child aged under 7, an early childhood partner can provide supports to children before they apply, and let families know if the NDIS is right for their child.
You can also use the NDIS Eligibility checklist to find if you are eligible or not
